I was in fourth class when I saw a computer running a terminal application at a railway station. I’d gone to get tickets booked and was mesmerised. A person books a ticket here, and that seat gets locked across the entire railway network.

The next week I was introduced to QBASIC and naively tried to create my own reservation app. It worked, though there was no storage or persistence, just a simple read-write application. A glorified hello world, basically. I haven’t felt that same sense of achievement since XD

These days

I’m from Sagar in Madhya Pradesh and now live in Bangalore, where I write software for a living. I’ve been doing that since 2020. These days I lead the Integrations team at Regie.ai.

Leading a team is extremely difficult. I’m learning things about myself haha. I care a lot about people using their own brains and taking ownership of what they build, and I’m figuring out how to help that happen. We’re also on a tight timeline to deliver a new product, so my priorities are a bit fucked up right now.

Movies

I love reading about directors and then watching their movies. Gives me a whole new perspective. Recently I watched Shoojit Sircar’s interview with Samdish and really liked how calm he was, how clearly he thought about things. You can see that in Piku. The story flows so naturally, but there’s so much attention to detail in the scenes and characters.

I wanted a place of my own to share what I’m learning and the things I build. That’s why this site exists. Movies will probably find their way in too.
